Born and raised in Taghazout, on a board since he was a boy, Abdul is a Level 1 certified surf coach. He runs the coaching at both hostels: the tide table at breakfast, the spot for each group, the video review in the evening.
One team, two villages
SurfsHUB runs two surf hostels on the coast north of Agadir because the two villages suit different people, and because a coach who knows both can put every guest on the right wave every day.
Fifteen minutes apart, and very different weeks
Taghazout is where the surfing happens when the points are working; Tamraght is where the learning happens when they are not, and where people go to sleep early. Running one hostel without the other meant driving guests back and forth every day. Running both means the coach chooses the spot for the day and the guest chooses the village for the week.
Small groups, certified coaching, one coach for the week
Abdul, the head coach, is a Level 1 certified surf coach, and all three coaches grew up surfing these spots. Groups are capped at 8 per coach and split by level on the beach. You keep the same coach for the week, so the feedback compounds instead of restarting each morning.
Hicham
Coach, Tamraght
Hicham grew up in Tamraght with Banana Point and Devil's Rock as his playground and has surfed them since he was small. He coaches at the Tamraght hostel, where most first weeks happen.
Yahya
Coach, Taghazout
Yahya is from Taghazout and learned to surf on the waves outside the village, Panorama and Hash Point first, the points later. He coaches at the Taghazout hostel.
